Did a good few bits of trading, and a few bog standard missions. ![]() Ha, decided to wipe my save and start afresh this evening. Everyone targets an Anaconda in a fight 'cos you can't miss! Tl dr - just jump in a shoot some stuff expect to lose ships, practice makes perfect. but keep a finger over the frame drive as you might want to jump out if it's too hot. Keep an eye on COMMS as you may get the odd NPC targeting you for cargo so a) provoke them by keeping 1 of something (and let them shoot first) or b) just ignore them as they'll get bored, wait for them to shoot somebody else.Īnother one is to drop out of super cruise into an 'Unknown Signal Source' as there may be a pirate (or two - run?) tackling local authority vessels. Keep an eye for 'Wanted' targets (target someone, get them in front and check the readout on the left) blast as soon as you have the advantage, and learn to navigate through the rocks. The resource extraction sites are easier to handle as you'll find it one-on-one for the most part. Don't strafe in an Anaconda the ships computer keeps it at optimum turning (i.e. ![]() Anything else and you'll both go around in a circle pointed at each other where it's usually the person with the bigger guns that wins. but I suggest if you want to fight, get a Viper (or if you've a lot of cash, an Anaconda but you need to be a good shot*!).Ĭircle strafing is OK if the target is low on health for a cheap kill. Put some distance in and get the buggers at long range neither can keep up with a Cobra. Ah yeah, but also remember the Cobra isn't great up close - it is damn fast in a straight line but close quarters and you'll lose against a Sidewinder or Eagle both have a higher turn speed and are much more manoeuvrable in a strafe.
